Yet another post about alcohol-- and age discrimination

So I was reading a little website just now about the drinking age as it stands now, at 21, presented on this website are "issues" and "responses" which seem to have been researched.

Now, I do not attempt to argue against or for these responses only to put my opinion about them forward, also, not using as much research as they do~

Here goes...

Should the Drinking Age Be Lowered from 21 to 18?
Yes

I answer "yes" because at 18 I am an adult, plain and simple. I have the rights and responsibilities of an adult finally granted to me. In that, the most shocking rights I am given are
  1. Having sex (and making money off of it via porn)
  2. Smoking cigarettes
  3. Killing
  4. Being executed for killing
  5. Getting into debt
  6. Also, I am finally once and for all considered an "adult" and I and only I (not my parents) am allowed to consent or refuse treatment for medical problems and so on much to the joy or dismay of my previously legally controlling parents.

I wouldn't call being executed a good thing, but still, I am able to be legally killed by the government if they find me guilty of unlawfully killing someone else. Now, with the me being able to kill part that implies that since I am able to join the military and handle death-inducing-weapons that I can kill. I have been given the power over life and death, legally.

I can have as much sex as I want with those also at the age of consent, which does vary state-to-state but is generally thought of being "absolute" at the age of 18. Absolute meaning I have no worries whatsoever if I have sex with someone who is 18 years old and I am 18 years old, or older. At least, so long as it's not rape...then we have problems...but you understand what I mean.

I can kill myself. I'm not talking about suicide, well... in a way I am... but instead I'm talking about doing an activity that can and has lead to death...many deaths. That would be caused by smoking cigarrettes.

Oh my!

But I am unable to drink alcohol?

Wow, life's a bitch.

Why is the age 21 and not 18 anyways?

Traffic accidents and binge drinking.

No kidding. I think it's safe to say and/or assume that once you hit the magical age of 21 you'll not do these things anymore.

EDIT: Finally I have the motivation to continue this posting.

A Brief History of the Drinking Age (VERY BRIEF)

In 1984 MADD lobbied the crap out of the government to get the drinking age raised back, federally, to 21 from 18. It was lowered to 18 during the Vietnam war so soldiers (and non-soldiers) could drink legally as adulthood was lowered from 21 to 18 during that time as well. Yes, prior to 1969 those under 21 were not only NOT allowed to purchase alcohol but they weren't even legal adults! And even prior to that the age was much lower. I don't have the exact dates but the entire idea of adolescense is no more 150 years old!

The rise of child-labor laws actually firmly established "childhood" in a legal context. But then took it away again by forcing children (their wills are not cared for) to attend school until 14 or 16 depending on the state and some states now are wanting to raise the drop-out age to 18 effectively (and actually) eliminating the ability of our young people to drop out of our increasingly prison-like school systems in their own cry for freedom from incarceration for merely committing the offense of being young!

Within the past 150 years childhood and being one has been increasingly criminalized with the sexual consent age in Texas being raised from 12 (in the late 1880s and prior to that I assume there wasn't one) to the eventual 17 it is now. That's right even if it's consensual, even if both parties agree, whether or not you do is irrelevant, they are committing a crime if both parties are under 17 in Texas as it stands now. Medical consent laws are no different, in fact, also in Texas foster-children (those owned by the state... the ultimate form "in loco parentis") have more rights than those owned by their parents! If you're under 18 in Texas, unless you're emancipated and not a foster child you are forbidden from consenting to any medical treatment or refusing that very treatment. There have been some cases outside of Texas, at least I think, where a 17-year old man with leukemia no longer wanted to suffer through chemo and/or radiation therapy and sought to stop it. HE WAS PHYSICALLY FORCED BY THE JUDGE AND DOCTORS TO UNDERGO UNWANTED TREATMENT THAT WOULD BE ILLEGAL AND AN OUTRIGHT VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS TO GIVE TO SOMEONE OVER 18!

What's wrong with this country?

Why the fuck do we treat our citizens so poorly?

IT NEEDS TO CHANGE NOW!

Abstinence-Only "Education" or "How to pretend like you care about your kids, while not really caring at all."

Everyone has sex!
("Children" included)

Perhaps that should be clear enough for everyone to understand. If not you have severe problems and should get help immediately.

"What happens when people have sex mommy?" a bold child asks her mother.

How does she her mother reply? For those of you who believe in "ignore your hormones, don't have sex" style teaching I assume that this is what you would say. (I wish otherwise...so very very much.)

"My dear child, you do not need to worry your pretty little head about sex right now, you're far to0 young for it, just wait until marriage...and you'll see." she replies.

She doesn't want her daughter to have sex at all. She believes she has instilled upon her good [insert religion here] values. That her daughter will take to the grave. Surely she will listen to her mom and wait until marriage to have sex. Just like any other good daughter.

She would be wrong.

Very wrong.

Like most kids these days, they're having sex. LOTS OF SEX. Like, almost nympomaniac-type sex. Yes, it happens, more often than you think. Your children like sex. Everybody likes sex....everybody has sex.

And for the most part, everyone has babies too...when they have sex. LOTS OF BABIES.

IT'S BABY MAKING TIME.

Sex is awesome. Sex is also natural. Very natural. If your parents didn't have sex...you wouldn't be here. YES, YOUR PARENTS HAD SEX IN ORDER TO MAKE YOU. Think about that!

Am I yelling loud enough? I hope so.

I hope the people back in the Stone Ages can hear me.

HOW DO WE PREVENT THIS BABY MAKING TIME WHILE STILL HAVING A GREAT TIME?

Do I have to answer? Really? I have to? Okay, here goes... this can answered with one word and one ONLY. I don't need to define it but it would be a good idea.

CONTRACEPTION

Was that clear? Concise? Precise? In any way difficult to understand? God, I really hope not. But let's define it:

Contraception
–noun the deliberate prevention of conception or impregnation by any of various drugs, techniques, or devices; birth control.

In short-- using something will likely -greatly- reduce the chance of baby-making to occur.

Contraception can involve just things like Birth Control items (be they pills, a shot, a ring etc) or just plain old CONDOMS. You know, the little plastic things you put on your partner's erect penis (if he's too lazy to do it himself).

It's not always 100% but it's better than nothing. (A.K.A. an uncovered/unwrapped PENIS plus not BC in sight! -- Hello new born baby, 9 months later!)

(btw, it's about 79%-99.9% effective depending upon the method used). (Conservative estimate...on the lower end...just for you guys)

Oh and Abstinence-only (IE. NOT HAVING SEX...HAHAHHAHA...yeah right) is not 100% effective.

Hello! Bible! Did you forget the "Virgin" Mary. I know I didn't. Immaculate Conception... XD uhm more like "Ejaculate Conception"...if you know what I mean....

/stops laughing sometime.

So that brings Abstinence-only's effectiveness to about 99.9%... can't help it if God did it!

No, really.

Are people that stupid?

.....oh, wait.....

So, for the people not raging. Let me sum it up for you. Just in case you didn't get it the first time.

Your children will have sex whether you like it or not. They will sneak behind your backs and be WILLFULLY "violated" multiple times and not necessarily by the same partner either o.O (oh snap).

Therefore, you can preach Abstinence all you want...but don't be surprised when your "precious little innocent angel" comes home with a very round stomach.

YOU DON'T ALWAYS GET PREGNANT, THOUGH...WHEN YOU HAVE SEX. (Without Contraception, of any kind... bareback as some might call it.)

That is true. But even if it's your first time... you can still get pregnant.

That is true meaning of sex... PROCREATION!

-If it wasn't so fun...tell me...would anyone "do it"?-

Also, if either one of you or both is/are sterile, no baby-making shall occur.
However, STDs like HIV, AIDS and other such nasty diseases can and DO occur. Have fun with that if you find out your "monogamous" partner has cheated on you... and didn't bother to use a CONDOM. "Owned" is a good term to use at this point, should such a situation occur.

Do everyone a favor... and CARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN!

Give them Birth Control pills, condoms oh and TEACH THEM ABOUT SEX GODDAMNIT!

War is Death (But I'd call it Murder)

This blog seems to be taking a slightly different turn-not for the worst. It just cannot be about the things listed on the first post it is much more than that and that's why I'm making this post.

It is Universal and Unchanging - It cannot be denied, misconstrued, altered, fabricated or otherwise changed. War is Death. And everyone knows. Whether the victim is a dreaded "enemy" that horrible horrible person is human too. He or she is human just like you.

The only difference between you two is that the "enemy" is on the wrong side or was raised to believe in something destructive, something violent or perhaps that "enemy" was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Why do wars happen?

Because humans are selfish.

What caused the Sept. 11th attacks?

Honestly I don't think anyone can truly answer that save the people that did it. But it was most likely the fact that the Taliban got billions of dollars in aid and weapons from the US and wanted more. They got so much more.

How does war benefit anyone?

It benefits those with the supplies needed to continue the war and the people who would be employed to "work for the war." And the people who would get rich by pillaging the towns and getting all their money and precious artifacts and other needed resources.

Can we ever stop wars?

We cannot stop them from continuing. They will continue until humanity eventually wipes itself out because someone said something bad or blew up some people on a much smaller scale than total annihilation. We can try and stop those in progress... if those in power were the kind to be easily convinced otherwise.

What is the job of a soldier?

To kill.

Simply put that is what they are trained to do. They kill people. They, with the support, backing and orders from their superiors kill people.

Just remember that when you send your son or daughter off to war they may very return to you as murderers.

Isn't the war in Iraq and Afghanistan for our freedom?

That is bullshit. No really it is fucking bullshit. What freedoms are "we" fighting to protect? The Patriot Act summarily removed lots of our freedoms and by the way violates the Constitution. The "terrorists" didn't have to do a thing. Well, they did attack the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and tried for the White House (Bush wasn't home) but besides the senseless killings we've been pretty good so far. Except for the Patriot Act of course.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_act

Don't knock wikipedia. They're as good as any chum like me (or better).

Long story short:
Terrorists: 2,974 + (for 911 WTC)
USA: 94,562 for Iraq and counting, over 5000 in Afghanistan
(news reports of civilian deaths in Afghanistan are few and far in between)

I think you know who has more blood on their hands.

Another Debate About the Drinking Age -- Oh and Discrimination, too

So the Amethyst Initiative wants to lower the drinking age from the age of 21 back down to the age of 18 (which is much more reasonable and not as hypocritical) as it was during the conscripted war in Vietnam (if we can force you to kill people or be killed, the least we can do for you is give you a bottle of booze to help you NOT think about all that blood on your hands (or on ours)).

I, of course, totally and completely agree that is should be lowered, as I said before because 18 years olds are legally responsible to themselves, their country and their children (if they have any) so they should be allowed to drink, period.

dis·crim·i·na·tion
–noun
1.an act or instance of discriminating.

2.treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.

Now, since those in the "underage" or even "age" (everyone has an age, you can't escape it...unless you lie) category also fall under this category, I do believe nothing more needs to be said. Discrimination is discrimination. And having this blanket law demanding that people not be allowed to put something into their own bodies is far beyond wrong.

Here is a lovely CNN news link that relates to this story. I also have an ireport account and have ireported, I won't tell you who I am just so that you know one of those pro-lowering-the-drinking-age stories is mine.

Birth Control =/= Abortion

I got this email from my mom and I thought I should post it. For those of you too lazy to read here is a summary: Bush wants birth control to be considered the same as abortions. Therefore doctors and insurance companies could make it even harder if not impossible for women to either get access to it or be given family planning...family planning! I assume by family planning they mean tell the soon-to-be-mother how to raise the kid and get access to pre and post natal care. (It appears to me that the staunch Christians want you to be on your own...yes even if you're married.) I could be wrong but that's what I heard.

Take Action. Save the Children! (This is meant to be sarcastic)

HHS Needs a News Flash: Birth Control is NOT Abortion

This summer, women's rights advocates discovered an impending administration attack on birth control. After hearing a multitude of protests, Secretary Mike Leavitt of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services blogs that it wasn't his intent.

Let's make sure it isn't. Take action NOW!

Action Needed:

Tell Mike Leavitt: "Birth control isn't abortion. Period. No matter how you try to explain it, this proposal will undermine women's access to birth control and other reproductive health care services -- so DROP this idea immediately."

Send an email to Secretary Leavitt!

Post a comment on Secretary Leavitt's blog!

In July, advocates learned of a draft administrative regulation which -- if implemented as written -- could:

1) Effectively redefine abortion to include commonly used contraceptive methods, and would discourage medical providers from offering those contraceptives. This expanded definition of abortion will discourage doctors and health care clinics from providing birth control products to women who need them, out of fear of losing critical federal funds.

2) Force family planning clinics to hire personnel who are anti-birth-control? No kidding! The drafted regulation would also have required agencies that receive family planning funding to certify that they will not discriminate in hiring people who object to abortion or who object to dispensing birth control on the basis of "religious beliefs or moral convictions."

3) Result in a dramatic influx of federal funding to fake clinics -- so-called "crisis pregnancy centers" that provide no family planning or abortion services, and often provide false and misleading information to women.

When all of this was pointed out to Leavitt, in letters from Congress, in comments posted on his blog, and in petitions circulated by Senators Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.), he backtracked -- but the draft regulations haven't yet been changed. And according to the Washington Post, Clinton and Murray aren't satisfied, writing to Leavitt: "We remain concerned by the regulations' potential to create barriers for women seeking health care, to jeopardize federal programs that provide family planning services and to disrupt state laws securing women's access to birth control."

TAKE ACTION NOW -- Send an email to Secretary Leavitt or post a comment on his blog urging him to drop the proposed regulation altogether.

Background:

The draft regulation, prepared by the Bush Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and currently circulating among anti-women officials, redefines abortion as, "any of the various procedures -- including the prescription, dispensing and administration of any drug or the performance of any procedure or any other action -- that results in the termination of the life of a human being in utero between conception and natural birth, whether before or after implantation." Taking a page from the extremist right, they are deliberately blurring the lines between contraception and abortion, providing an extraordinarily broad definition of abortion that could be interpreted to cover various forms of birth control, including oral contraceptives, intrauterine devices (IUD's), and emergency contraception.

This draft regulation requires entities and individuals that receive family planning funding to certify that they will not discriminate against people who object to abortion or to dispensing birth control on the basis of "religious beliefs or moral convictions." Under the guise of passing anti-discrimination laws to protect health care providers participating in federal programs, the proposed regulation would effectively undermine a health care provider's ability to offer the very services for which they are funded, as well as a patient's ability to access those services. All health care providers must be able to appropriately screen and hire individuals capable and willing to perform the core services that they provide.

The regulation puts laws and policies that protect women's access to birth control in serious jeopardy, including state laws that require hospitals to provide sexual-assault survivors with access to emergency contraception. The draft rule limiting Title X funding will create a direct conflict between Title X (America's Family Planning Program) and the Maternal Child Health and Medicaid programs, which requires that grantees provide a broad range of contraceptive services and supplies to their patients.

Currently, there are "crisis pregnancy centers" in communities across the country that look like health care centers, but deliver woefully incomplete care and only provide the reproductive health care options that fit their agenda: NO birth control, NO abortion -- and NO choice for women and families who need it! If Bush's proposed regulation takes effect, these "crisis pregnancy centers" are likely to receive a massive influx of our tax dollars.

At a time when 17 million women are in need of publicly-supported reproductive health care services, this regulation disparately impacts the low-income, uninsured and under-insured women who rely on these programs for their health information and services!

TAKE ACTION NOW -- Tell Secretary Leavitt that his staff should be fired if they really circulated this draft regulation without his knowledge. He should drop this whole idea.

The Difference Between a Liberal and a Conservative - Stop me if I'm getting too off topic

Ok, this isn't exactly a joke. Or the beginning of one. Nor am I trying to offend anyone considering themselves to be a "Conservative."

Let me remind all you (I don't believe I have an audience yet, but someday, someone will discover this blog, and may or may not be offended by it...if so...deal with it) I am no expert in anything, save common sense and the definition of liberty--freedom.

As I am uneducated here is my definition of a "Conservative" (with the help of http://www.dictionary.com/)

1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.

Ok so in layman's English that means someone who DOES NOT LIKE CHANGE.

The definition of a "Liberal" is: (sorry I like all these definitions too much to leave any of them out)

1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
2.(often initial capital letter) noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.
3.of, pertaining to, based on, or advocating liberalism.
4.favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, esp. as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
5.favoring or permitting freedom of action, esp. with respect to matters of personal belief or expression: a liberal policy toward dissident artists and writers.
6.of or pertaining to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.
7.free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant: a liberal attitude toward foreigners.
8.open-minded or tolerant, esp. free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc.
9.characterized by generosity and willingness to give in large amounts: a liberal donor.
10.given freely or abundantly; generous: a liberal donation.
11.not strict or rigorous; free; not literal: a liberal interpretation of a rule.
12.of, pertaining to, or based on the liberal arts.
13.of, pertaining to, or befitting a freeman.
–noun
14.a person of liberal principles or views, esp. in politics or religion.
15.(often initial capital letter) a member of a liberal party in politics, esp. of the Liberal party in Great Britain.

FOR THOSE WHO HATE READING (get out of my blog you lazy bums)

Conservative = No Change (which means if your leader is dictator...DON'T DO ANYTHING)
Liberal = Give me Liberty of Give me Death. aka Personal freedom

Who hates Liberty? Honestly? Oh, the Conservatives want to restrict personal freedoms as much as possible. Since when was that cool?

Never

That's when. I like being free. Freedom is awesome. You like freedom too, don't you?

I thought so.

My Rights End Where Your Rights Begin - A Fallacy of an Argument

I think we can all assume, if nothing else, that willfully injuring, maiming or killing someone is wrong, no matter your reasons. In a "natural selection" population control way, yes, it helps curb the rapid growth of the human population by having members of the same species kill one another over ideas, beliefs, or control on anything someone can come up with. However, since we are "human beings" we are also supposed to be "civilized" and in a "civilized" society people do not, no should not go around killing one another.

Based on my 20 odd years of life experience, which is not much since the human life span can be up to 120 years max, I have discovered that we are mighty good fakers. Yes, that's it! We faked it. We ALL fake it. We fake being civilized. We pretend to be above our nature, our nature as human beings, nay as animals. As animals who eat both plants and fellow animals. We are omnivores, a small population of animals that eat both plants and animals, so, in other words, we eat everything that is edible for us humans and use everything, and all these things that we eat provide their own nutritional value and further help us develop into "advanced" creatures. I don't see bears building condos out in Colorado. I don't see dolphins building an ocean resort. I don't see Cows building a cow ranch where they raise humans. I don't see any of that. I see humans building condos in Colorado, humans building ocean resorts...though not "in" the ocean, I see humans building a ranch and raising cows for either their milk, which we drink, or their meat that we selfishly and naturally consume.

We are not at fault here, we are bound to our nature, you are, I am, everyone and everything is bound to its nature and we cannot defeat it, hard as we try. Otherwise we won't be human anymore. We do still want to be human, don't we?

What are Rights?

Based on my uneducated definition..."rights" are a concept, created and enforced by humans that no one is supposed to violate. Meaning "I have the right to be alive," "I have the right to not be abused" etc. Rights are something that are supposed to be set in stone, that are supposed to..well... allow people to be people and do what they like..so long as their rights don't intrude on the rights of others- and that is a fallacy of an argument. As I said before if your rights are something that allows you to be you and you do not impose yourself on others or harm them or kill them... whose rights have been limited? Since maiming and killing is wrong... it stands to reason that no one has the right to do that.. (not even the government) whose rights have been violated? No one's.

Therefore no one is harmed so no one's rights have been violated.

Here's an example:

I am a highly religious person and I want everyone to be saved, because I care so much for their souls, so very much.

However, non-religious people or other religious people DO NOT want to be saved (by me, the religious person) and when I try and tell them if they do not convert their souls will burn forever in hellfire and you do not want to hear that. I have the first amendment protecting my free speech as do you have it protecting yours therefore you have every right to tell me to go away and I have every right to say what I want to say, however if you do not want to hear it you can move away and I cannot pester you (because that's just rude) and/or you can tell me to go away if I have invaded your personal space.

See? Everybody wins. No one's first amendments have been violated, you can disagree with what I have to say and you can choose not to listen and go away or tell me to go away if I'm invading your space (if you were there before me).

Make sense? Make sense!

dis·crim·i·na·tion
–noun
1.an act or instance of discriminating.

2.treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.

3.the power of making fine distinctions; discriminating judgment: She chose the colors with great discrimination.

4.Archaic. something that serves to differentiate.

The most important and pertinent definitions for these two words has been provided.

When someone has not yet reached an "age of maturity" they are not, by the state, and by law to be considered mature enough to make their own decisions. They are not mature enough to have any control over their lives, even over their own health. They must get permission for everything.

They are under the state and their parents complete control.
Who would give a job to 12 year old? Oh and pay them too. The law says you don't have to. Actually it says you can't. You CAN employ them however, you just can't pay them for their hard work (read: school..who would've thought?)
Who would rent an apartment to a 14 year old? Again, if you're under 18 they probably won't rent to you...because you're not mature enough to sign a lease.
Who would give a 15 year old birth control or condoms or protection in general from STDs, because a 15 year old shouldn't be having sex anyways, they either won't give them to you, or call your parents so they can give THEIR consent...which of course they probably won't. Anyone under 18 isn't allowed to have sex, so why should they give you condoms or birth control? If they did wouldn't that automatically mean they're promoting sex between minors? That they're encouraging it? Oh no, we can't have that. They're too young to have sex!

Age discrimination
is not only only wrong it is illegal. Oh no wait that's what those "DON'T BUY TOBACCO FOR MINORS" ads you see in your local wal-mart. While I do not like cigarettes (as they have a high probability of KILLING you...the warning label says so! It's right on the box!) I, as I have said before, don't think we should "restrict" access to minors to any product just because we don't want them to do something...with their body nonetheless!

Again, cigarettes DO kill. However, punishing a group of people who are under some arbitrary age is discrimination! Scroll up and reread the definition if you're still not convinced that minors are people too. Minors are people too! Again, minors are people too!

I shan't continue because this subject matter is making me angrier as I think about it.

Also, yelling through the internet is NOT a sign of immaturity...it's a sign of being enraged as I should be.

Youth Rights The REAL Part 2

So. Did I forget to mention the legal drinking age in the USA? It's 21. But as I said before I can do just about anything else prior to that once I turn 18.

So am I mature enough to vote and die and have sex and be executed (oh and sent off to Guantanamo Bay where I can enjoy a lovely cock meat sandwich) and do other such "mature" things but I am still too developmentally delayed to enjoy a beer on the porch with my friends and subsequently become smashed out of my mind leading to drunken and possible unprotected sex? To which later if I don't want to feel like I whore I'll report the sex as being coerced or what not and send that asshole to jail? (Awful scenario, I know, but it happens)

Leading onto new and wonderful things, since I was already on to the topic of sex I shall continue on with this even more controversial subject matter. SEX. OOH. SEX.

X-RATED.

No really. Who hasn't thought about sex? Mormons, I know you have, a lot. Nuns? Oh yeah! Priests? They apparently weren't paying attention during class when the teacher said "rape is a sin" especially the rape of 10 year old boys. Ouch.

Oh let's not forget the very relevant and historical rape of women. Not just young girls but women of all ages and races. They have been raped and raped and raped and beaten down and disrespected for thousands of years. Treated as mere object, as stupid and weak. As farm equipment (yes, I said that, look it up) and as bearers of children. Which were also treated basically the same way, yes, rape included.

Children, women and minorities have all been treated with massive amounts of disrespect and abuse over and over again and all groups have been subjugated for simply being themselves.

The last group of these original 3 is still being subjugated, controlled, abused, disrespected etc. And that group is of course CHILDREN. Children have had next no to rights forever. And they probably will not have them until they forcefully PROVE to those in control (mostly their controlling parents) that they are not immature little brats.

Up until the age of about 10 (maybe older maybe younger, usually about when puberty hits) children are usually immature little brats. Though this is not a blanket mind-set for those under 10 or before they reach puberty because everyone develops at their own pace and based on their surroundings and their parents they could be reading astrophysics by the time they are 10 and actually understand it (read: hello child genius!) unlike most 40 year olds with a Master's in English, History or Philosophy, hell even Medicine (aka Doctors.)

We've established that there are smart kids out there. Smart kids who are way smarter than most adults. We have also established there are kids who are more mature than adults. Mature, but powerless. When I was 16 I went to Japan, obviously I was mature enough to go, but was powerless when I got there, mostly because under the law I was basically an invalid, unable to make decisions for myself and having to have a guardian sign FOR me... instead of WITH me or sign at all. Same situation in the USA.

I don't know about you but I find all of this disrespect to be highly offensive. (Couldn't you already tell? If not, welcome to the slow thinkers club.)

I am 20 years old and for the most part I am considered an adult (minus the devil alcohol, of course) and can have sex with whomever I like so long as I do commit statutory rape on someone below the legal sex age. Yes, I said that.

What is statutory rape?

According to our wonderful systems of laws and regulations, statutory rape is defined as this:

statutory rape
–noun U.S. Law.
sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of consent, which age varies in different states.
[Origin: 1930–35]

Wow. Only with a girl? So I guess I CAN have sex with a boy under the "age of consent"... not really -- though biased towards women, the older women can be put in jail nowadays -- many female teachers have been who have done such an act. Not that I'd want to... I prefer older males... they are usually less stupid.

This had been ignored until like the 80s because women were seen as harmless, though I really doubt any young boy (typically in high school) would say they were abused by their teacher if she wanted to "get it on" with him or so to speak, especially if she was "hawt." In fact one such case they got married! Did anyone commit a crime? I don't think so. Oh and he was 13 and she was like almost 30 when it began... he's like 20 now and they have a kid together. I think the teacher's first name was Debbie or something. Big age difference but lust (and love too) knows no age and if it's mutual... shut up and go home, leave the lovers in peace, goddammit.

Moving on. The "age of consent" is bullshit. While I'm not a pedo, statutory rape should not be a crime. Rape is rape and there no excuse for forced sex, those bastards need to get raped themselves and once their in jail, I can almost guarantee they will. (What the fuck does that say about our prison systems? I'll talk about that later.) When I was 15 and I wanted to have sex with a fellow 15 year old he technically could be charged with statutory rape! (Because he's having sex with a person under the age of consent even though he himself is under the age too) and I most likely would be treated like a victim! Even though it was CONSENSUAL! Key word! Key word!!! Are you reading...!!! KEY WORD! Not RAPE! NOT FORCED SEX!

RAPE
1.
the unlawful compelling of a woman through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse.
2.any act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person.
3. statutory rape.
4. an act of plunder, violent seizure, or abuse; despoliation; violation: the rape of the countryside.
5.Archaic. the act of seizing and carrying off by force.
–verb (used with object)
6.to force to have sexual intercourse.
7.to plunder (a place); despoil.
8.to seize, take, or carry off by force.
–verb (used without object)
9.to commit rape.

OOh my god, they added statutory rape on the list. That pisses me off. The first definition is compelling a woman through physical force or duress to have sex... which means he probably beat the shit out her until she gave in and he raped her. Last I checked, that wasn't cool. But since when is statutory rape involving force? Never. That's when. They made up this law because they knew teens would be having sex with whomever they pleased (because teens have the most hormones of all and they intend to use them) and they wanted to punish the older person because the teen must refrain from sex until they're 18!!!! OMFG!!! Discrimination!!! Example of!!

B U L L S H I T

Utter and complete bullshit. For all of you labeled as a sex offender because you had consensual sex with someone under the "age of consent" I feel for you and you will get justice some day. I promise. And for those (who are 98% female) who are under the "age of consent" and want to have sex with someone under it over it always remember USE BIRTH CONTROL. And boys USE A CONDOM. DO NOT LET YOUR PARENTS KNOW! Someone could end up in jail!
Your parents are the main reason people end up in jail but not the only reason. Be as discreet as possible and be safe. You are not bad people for having sex and no one should look down on you for doing so, or put you in jail.

Long story short this is my advice:

Have sex, drink, smoke pot but don't drive while doing any of those or after any of those (after sex might be okay) because you're not hurting anyone if you're by yourself, even better. Don't drink alone though, you need someone to splash some water on you if you're really out of it.. or take you to the hospital... don't drink too much.

Off-topic Post

So... apparently Irish Gaelic = SPAM. According to ye olde Blogger my Irish Gaelic practice blog I made the other day (I have a Japanese and Chinese one as well) was automatically flagged as being SPAM.

While it may be incomprehensible babble, it is not SPAM. I made that blog in the hope that one day I could at least write in comprehensible babble that the population (few as they may be) of Irish Gaelic speakers could actually understand.

I love languages and who the fuck would go through the trouble of making a SPAM blog anyways?

Stupid bastards.

Youth Rights - Part Two-ish because blogspot is being a bitch

We are treating what is essentially a public health problem (anything involving drugs of any kind are relevant to this argument) as a criminal matter. I am not a criminal, I am not a bad person, I am not deserving of jail time because I put something in MY OWN BODY THAT I OWN that you say I shouldn't have!

Oh and last I checked (and I just said) I OWN MY BODY, NOT YOU! NOT YOU THE GOVERNMENT!

In keeping with America being a free country... your laws regarding my body... DO NOT APPLY.
They are invalid! (Because there is no Constitutional Amendment to support this ILLEGAL law I do not and will not follow whatever it happens to be that involves my body.)

Ahh... ranting... I just had to get that out of my system... forgive me but I have a valid point. Ask a cop if you are property of the USA.

I dare anyone to ask a cop that.

Just see how he responds.

Then ask him if there is a Constitutional Law granting the government control over your body.

Just see how he responds.

Just wait and see.
------------

There will be a part 2. Do not worry.

Youth Rights - Part One

There comes a time, in everyone's life, when he or she changes from a child to an adult. In the United States however, this time is divided, it is separate, and therefore not equal.

In the United States of America when one turns 18 years old one is considered legally an adult. The adult can now sue, be sued, be tried as an adult (we'll get to the hypocrisies and contradictions later), be executed, join the military and kill, have sex, smoke tobacco, get married (without parental permission), quit school, purchase R-rated movies and up (including porn), vote, sign contracts, get into debt etc.

However a person who is legally classified as an adult regarding all of these good things, is then classified as a minor aka a "child," "a person of lesser importance" or perhaps not a person at all.

Our right to put something we want into our bodies is denied to us once again and we are told it's "Bad for you," "bad for your mental development," "your body is not mature enough to handle it," "you are too much a child for this! Grow up some before you can have it!" and what would that be, that is so BAD for us... mind you BECAUSE we have not yet reacher another arbitrary age?

Alcohol
Ah, we meet again!

Oh no! Alcohol is the devil! It hurts so many young people today! We must help them by not allowing them to have it and when they do (they always do) get it punish them and make them criminals, make their lives filled with sadness and persecution (aka prosecution) so it'll be much harder for them to get a job and go to college!

Just because they want to drink some beer! OH THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

Yes, alcohol IS bad for you. It can maim and kill you and many people have died due to this legal intoxicant.

However, putting someone in jail because they just want to hang out with their friends, act like fools (all drunk people act like fools, age is irrelevant) and then pass out is not helping anyone!
  • Put them in treatment centers if they have a problem!
  • Teach them the dangers of alcohol.(Teaching someone something is always helpful, America's public schools have failed me and everyone else.)
  • Tell them that alcohol is safe when used in moderation!
  • Tell them they could and other people could die if they use too much! Or drive while drunk!
  • Make it stick!
Under no circumstances should you shove a MIP on a person who is over 18 and LEGALLY an adult. YOU CANNOT CHARGE AN ADULT AS A MINOR. AN ADULT IS NOT A MINOR NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE WANTS TO SAY. THAT IS DISCRIMINATION AND DECEIT! AND IT IS WRONG AND SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED!

Liberal Incarnate: A Voice of Freedom -- Drugs Part 2

The [True] History of Drugs
continued...

Then there was Marijuana, also commonly known as Weed, Dope, Pot, Mary-Jane etc. Marijuana is, and let me make this clear to all of you who do not know this, a plant. Marijuana is a naturally growing PLANT. It has been here since man were monkeys and civilization was something yet to be dreamed of. Marijuana is also known as Cannabis, the plant we know and hate so much is called Cannabis Sativa.

The most commonly reported effects of smoking Cannabis include:
  • Sleepiness
  • Hunger (aka "the munchies")
  • Feeling of being connected with the universe (or some higher power)
  • Mild hallucinations (if any)
  • Paranoia
The most common negative side effects of smoking Cannabis include:
  • Sleepiness
  • Hunger (aka "the munchies")
  • Feeling of being connected with the universe (or some higher power)
  • Mild hallucinations (if any)
  • Paranoia
  • Pain relief -- WAY better than Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Darvoset, Vicodin etc. -- without the possibility of addiction... or death! (or serious stomach ailments... Thank You Ibuprofen!)
  • Mood stabilizer or normalizer -- for those with Depression
  • Reaction-time decreaser (if you're REALLY high to where you cannot operate a vehicle and also value your life and the lives of others: DO NOT DRIVE)
  • You might not even be able to get high :(
That seems to be about it in regards to its effects. Now, people who have mental problems or a tendency to have them should not take any drug that would agitate the problem, legal or illegal...well people who have been recommended it by a doctor...it's his word against mine and I don't owe $100,000 in loans to medical school.

The most common way of taking Cannabis is smoking, however some of the other ways are using a vaporizer and cooking into something like a cake or cookies something else that would require butter of some sort. Cannabis is classified as a hallucinogen however based on what I have heard one does not hallucinate, per se, but imagines a world unlike their own and is transported to it --- all in their own heads of course.

Marijuana, Cannabis or whatever else you want to call it has never maimed or killed a single human being or animal in its history of being used. The same cannot be said for federally APPROVED prescription and legal drugs like: ****
  1. Valium
  2. Xanax
  3. Alcohol
  4. Vicodin
  5. Oxycontin
  6. Tobacco
  7. Ritalin
  8. Ephedra
  9. Ibuprofen
  10. And any warning label on a drug that says if you take more than the recommended dosage...aka overdose, you die. (you should all live by this, and read the warning labels!)
Number of deaths in the history of history caused by Marijuana: Zero

Now let me tell you a summary of how Marijuana has been outlawed, banned, forbidden, punishable by fine, imprisonment (up to life,) inability to get student loans, get a job, keep your children etc.

Racism. As I said before Racism is the reason why most drugs have been banned. As for Marijuana, like the Chinese with Opium, was banned because Mexicans were bringing it over, selling it, and getting rich off of it, as were African Americans and so on. The white man, was afraid of losing his white woman to the minorities so he outlawed it and put the minorities, who were typically the ones who used the drugs, into jail and labeled them as criminals, as evil people who are a threat to society and should be punished!* And so they were. This applies to Shrooms, Meth, Cocaine etc. All of these drugs brought profit to the minorities and it was taken away from them by the white man, this did not only happen in the US but in most of the countries now.

As for Marijuana, it in its particular case it was outlawed because Alcohol had recently become legal again in the United States of America and the extra police force hired on to deal with the Alcohol didn't want to be out of a job... they needed something to do. This was also right smack dab in the middle of the Great Depression and they REALLY needed law enforcement to prevent the hungry, angry, out of work and homeless masses (also known as poor people) from going 15th Century on Hoover and his cronies.

The entire reason Alcohol was outlawed in the first place is because religious people and some women thought by outlawing it people would be forced to stop using it (because it is thought that once something is illegal and everyone is a law abiding citizen, they would follow the law and stop using it... we all know how untrue that turned out to be) and so drunk people would stop beating their mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, wives of friends, other family members, random people, drinking buddies, police into a bloody pulp because Alcohol has a very high tendency to make otherwise calm people into drunken bastards. So in 1920-1933 possessing, drinking or selling ye olde booze was illegal. And the Prohibitionists made sure everyone knew it. Those 13 years were probably one of worst times to be a cop or a law abiding citizen. Let me show you why:

http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=1017&full=1

(I prefer you read this rather than me just retype everything I wanted to say)

TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read)

  • Homicides Increased
  • Jails began overflowing (the "drunk tank" was now filled with soon to be hardened criminals)
  • Cases of cirrhosis, poisoned alcohol (for when they couldn't get the GOOD stuff -as Alcohol was illegal and all- and decided to mix it with things like formaldehyde etc.) - See what happens when you give up all control over regulation? People die.
  • Increase in drunk people (drinking did drop off for a year (1921) but picked right back up again)
So after all the social problems they thought they were going to be fixing by outlawing the devil's drink (Alcohol) they just decided (in a nation-wide VOTE, nonetheless) that the Eighteenth Amendment (the Prohibition Law) which had been in place for 13 drunken years should be repealed by the Twenty-First Amendment.

The Government Admits Defeat on the War on Alcohol!
The Government is expected to give a conditional surrender on the historic "Booze Battlefield"
where many anti-Prohibitionists lost their lives for a sip of beer.

Drugs: 1 Government: 0
They lost the war on a drug
(Alcohol IS a drug)
Don't tell me they didn't party after words. I know they did. You know they did.

So how does this equate to the "War on Drugs" nowadays? Like I said before all those Prohibitionist era cops, specially enlisted for their Booze Busting skills needed to keep their jobs especially during the onset of the great depression 5 years earlier. So in 1932 legislation was enacted to outlaw Marijuana! (Though without the obligatory Amendment to the Constitution, because they didn't seem to willing to give people as much of a chance to overturn it)

As for the admittedly dangerous drugs out there, like Meth, Crack, Cocaine etc their dangers cannot be ignored as they are known to cause severe mental problems, physical wounds, sickness and even death. However putting these people away in prison where they still have access to their drug of choice with no support system on either the inside or the outside is NOT HOW TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM!

Treatment centers would at least benefit those with the problems, a steady job, a home to come and sleep peacefully at, a safe neighborhood, someone to talk to and no fear of going back to prison because they failed a drug test... this is so easy! Such a simple solution to the problem -- care about your fellow man and help him when he is down! Do not give him a fish, teach him how to fish and where to go to find the best fish and fish with him, and teach him how to clean it, to cook it, to store it. Do these things and people will actually be helping one another. Punishment has never ever nor will ever be the answer to failed "War on Drugs".

Grow up people and give a shit.

Liberal Incarnate: A Voice of Freedom - Drugs Part I - Rewritten and Revamped: So I don't sound like I'm so angry :)

DRUGS

This is no simple issue to debate or even have a simple conversation about but I'm tired of people telling me things that simply are not true and quite frankly piss me off. Since I've had enough of it I'm going to do something about it... and that is?

Write about it.

The [True] History of Drugs
I never said it was "The [Untold] History of Drugs"

The "War on Drugs" has been a problem in America since the white man had power-- and that was since the white man discovered there were non-whites on the planet-- he has vied to control others he deemed "lesser," white women were no exception to the white man's desire for dominance, even over people in his own racial category, (run-on sentence anyone? Prepare for more... I like to ramble coherently) others have suffered at his hands.

However, the white man is not alone in his power-seeking-agenda, all men and even women (there's more of us than you'd think) of any and all racial categories have sought it and sought to keep it. It's only natural to want to be in control of your life, and to subsequently manage the lives of those other people who happen to reside in your general area and don't seem to fit in with your ideas and perhaps even your religion (if any but we'll get into that later). It just wasn't right and the people in power (more often than not a WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) - at least in the USA, Canada and Europe - the natural "home" of the white man) not only wanted power, but money and money and power taste delicious when combined with a cold beer.

So far as the history of drugs and the making of certain ones (deemed harmful) illegal in the eyes of those with the power and the money it all began with racism.

Racism in the United States of America is older than the country itself. Slaves were bought and sold by the dreaded "white devils" and before that they invaded sacred Native American land and killed millions of Native Americans in order to obtain the precious resource the Natives were blessed with and the white man decided was his, land. The "white devils" took the land, took the food, slaughtered the bison (for fun) and raped the women and children and killed as many men as possible.

Why on earth would someone do such a thing? Because they were the other people; the people that weren't really people, the unbelievers of God, their language* was different (many many languages were not English or French or German, those might have been acceptable but alas, they were none of the above) their skin wasn't white, their culture was filled with mysterious traditions and songs and crazy dancing (they didn't like dance) and many other things that just singled them out as not falling into the category of being humans-- they were just too different, just too simple, their weapons weren't powerful enough and their people weren't united enough to stop a takeover of their lands and an imprisonment of their bodies and minds.

This isn't even the beginning of racism in the world, just America.

I edge closer and closer to the point of my history of drugs.... at least in America...

Racism: The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.* By this definition or similar those who sought to have power over those they deemed different, took power, and like I said before wanted to keep it.

After the slaves were free and immigrants (legal and illegal alike) from all corners of the globe came in to "invade" America the white man was afraid of losing power to the other people because he claimed the land called America and wanted to keep it for himself. The Chinese, who mostly through their labor built the railroads and worked tirelessly for little pay and no respect, used opium so they could get through the day.* At that, the Chinese, since the importation of opium into the USA, the Chinese people themselves were banned from entering the USA. Why? Because the Chinese were getting a lot of work done and bringing in something that wasn't a "white man's drug" ... those would be beer and tobacco.

---

This is an on-going story that I am writing and I will announce when I am finished with the entirety of it. Feel free to make comments now, however you do not have the whole story.
